The award is named “Christianos” which, in Greek, means, “follower of Christ.”
Peter graduated from LCA in 2002. LCA Headmaster Rick Burslem had this to say about Peter:
Peter is passionate about historical preservation and is the author of Lost Lexington – published in 2014 by Arcadia Publishing – which chronicles the many historic landmarks of Lexington that have been lost over the years due to the city’s exponential growth.
He is married to his high school sweetheart, and fellow LCA graduate, Morganne and together they have three beautiful children. Their family is a part of South Elkhorn Christian Church, where Peter is an Elder and is in his third year of service on the church Cabinet where he presently serves as Vice-Moderator.
In recent years, Peter has been involved with a number of community organizations, with a strong presence in both Lexington and Nicholasville. All of his involvements focus on serving our neighbors and preserving the rich history of our city. Highlights of Peter’s service include: previously serving on the boards of ProgressLex, the Lexington History Museum, Inc., and Nicholasville NOW!. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation, and has served or chaired on multiple of the BGT’s committees including its publications and deTours committee. He was also the 2013 recipient of the Blue Grass Trust’s Lucy Graves Advocacy Award.
Throughout his life – in college, in work, as well as his personal life, Peter has sought ways to serve those around him. Peter is committed to investing in his community – those he encounters in his neighborhood, at church and in his professional career. We are proud to honor Peter this evening, for his dedication to his faith, his church, his family and to our beautiful city of Lexington, KY.
